FoodTools sheet slicing machines portion a wide variety of quarter, half, and full sheet products including flapjacks, granola bars, oat bars and more. Automated flapjack cutting machines help bakers improve portion consistency, reduce product waste, and streamline the slicing process no matter who is using the machine.

Flapjack products and other oat bars are often cut on machines using stainless steel blades like our CS and ACCUSLICE™ portioning lines. Stainless steel blades are thin, sharp, and slice through firm, hard, or frozen products with ease. Mechanical blade systems can also be more economical to purchase, reducing a bakery’s initial investment in an automated solution.

For flapjacks and other bakery products that are fresh, ambient, or have fancy toppings or inclusions mechanical blades may crush, drag, or redistribute the product from slice to slice. In that case our line of ACCUSONIC™ portioning machines use ultrasonic cutting systems for difficult to cut products. Ultrasonic blades vibrate at 20 kHz, so fast that the thicker titanium blade cuts through the product with less resistance, reducing cracking and dragging. Ultrasonic systems are a larger investment than stainless steel mechanical blades and require more attentive maintenance, so we only recommend ACCUSONIC™ solutions when absolutely necessary.

From slicing a few trays of flapjacks a week to portioning a few hundred sheets per hour our complete line of automated machines offers the perfect throughput solution for each unique bakery. Our CS line starts with the CS-RS, a semi-automatic economical half sheet slicing machine and works up to the ACCUSLICE-10MX, our fully automated full sheet stand-alone option. For production facilities needing to cut more than 150 sheets per hour our inline machines like the ACCUSLICE-100FS use an automated conveyor and PLC controlled cut patterns. Other systems can include one or two cutting stations, custom designed x & y bladesets, and depending on the flapjack products these solutions can portion up to several hundred full or half sheets per hour.

Often when we’re helping a bakery or food processing plant automate the flapjack portioning process we’ll also recommend a full or half sheet forming machine to standardize the bar pressing process. The CP-1H is our half sheet press and the CP-1F and CP-2F machines offer full sheet pressing for flapjacks, bars, crumbs, dough and more. Automating the pressing and forming process improves the sheet consistency and density and reduces the time it takes to prepare a rack of flapjacks.

After pressing the mix into half or full sheet pans the flapjacks can be portioned inside the pan, on a cutting board, or in a custom designed product holder. The half sheet of flapjacks above was pressed with the CP-1H and the sliced into bars with the CS-RS. Both machines are designed for half sheets only and are our entry level automation solutions. For a larger scale facility the CP-1F and ACCUSLICE-10MX are great options to press and portion full sheet products on stand-alone machines.

If you are forming and portioning flapjacks, oat bars, granola bars, and other sheet products by hand it might be time to schedule a test demonstration with your products on our flapjack processing machines. Work with our portioning experts to see how using automated solutions can help improve your bottom line.
