Position: Divider-Insert Cutter Operator

We are seeking a Divider-Insert Cutter Operator with a strong desire to succeed and grow in a manufacturing environment. A Divider-Insert Cutter Operator uses a variety of tools and equipment to cut, bunn-tie, carton and palletize finished goods to specifications. This involves reading and interpreting jobs, raw materials and written instructions. To ensure quality, an eye for detail is needed in a highly repetitive work environment.

Incumbent will be responsible for working within all procedure and safety requirements of FOODTOOLS Inc. Daily activities will be scheduled to support order / customer ship dates. Incumbent is required to perform but not limited to the following;

As this process involves food contact paper, hair and beard nets are mandatory as well as great personal hygiene.

  • Must be a self-starter that is able to work unsupervised.
  • Accurate basic math skills.
  • Basic technical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight, as well as the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Possess the ability to follow work instructions consistently, every time.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Ability to lift 45 pound cartons for palletizing finished goods.
  • Possess self-starter initiative as subject paper line is not heavily supervised.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Some type of manufacturing experience a plus.

Position: Controls Engineer

We are seeking a Controls Engineer with a strong desire to succeed and grow in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must possess a positive attitude, an excellent work performance history, a mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to excel in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have the technical ability to perform the duties of electrical design, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and on-site installs at customer locations.  Will consider any combination of these skills.

Electrical Circuit Design and Panel Layout

  • Design power distribution circuit based on customer requirements.
  • Specify electrical devices such as power supply, safety controller, AC to DC converter and motor drives.
  • Design terminal blocks required for machine I/O.
  • Layout the electrical panel with all devices and wiring for electrical cabinet builds.
  • Create Bill of Materials and enter in to the ERP system for purchase.

Pneumatic Circuit Design (A Plus)

  • Specify valves required for each pneumatic device.
  • Specify pneumatic components and locations for pressure switches, regulators, and manifolds.
  • Layout pneumatic panel with all devices for the pneumatic cabinet build.
  • Create Bill of Materials and enter in to the ERP system for purchase.

PLC & HMI Programming

  • Develop PLC logic based on customer required machine functionality.
  • Use Rockwell Studio 5000 software to create Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs for machine control.
  • Use Factory Talk ME and Cmore to program Human Machine Interface (HMI) for operator interaction with the machine.
  • Review mechanical machine design to understand how the machine is intended to function.
  • Layout a sequence of operations and pseudo code to create the framework for the PLC logic.
  • Develop PLC logic from pseudo code.
  • Program safety circuit using Banner, Keyence, and Allen Bradley programmable safety controllers.
  • Set up ethernet devices to communicate with the PLC (servo drives, valve manifolds, HMI, Ewon, and Ultrasonics).
  • Load programs into the machine controllers.
  • Apply DC power only to check safety circuits for proper wiring.
  • Set ethernet IP addresses and establish communications between the PLC and the machine devices.
  • Verify all manual machine motions are working as intended.
  • Debug machine in automatic sequence.
  • Run products through the machine and make program adjustments to meet product quality and cycle time requirements.
  • Perform run-off checklist to ensure machine is ready to ship to the customer.
  • Back-up all programs and store them on the company server.

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Attend project meetings.
  • Participate in machine concepting for new custom machine opportunities as well as Legacy equipment improvement opportunities.
  • Provide customer support for service issues related to machine control systems.
  • Provide electrical and program information for the Machine User Manual.
  • Train customers on machine operation.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude a must.
  • Excellent attendance record.

  • 3 to 5 years of practical experience.

Education Preferred

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
