FoodTools has been a longstanding member of BEMA, the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds organization, and Sergio Caballero, our Regional Sales Manager, has become our first representative on the BEMA Board Of Directors.
BEMA has a long history of supporting the growth of our industry. For more than 100 years (since 1918) the organization has managed trade shows and exhibitions, brought together industry leaders to establish safety and sanitation regulations, and organized workshops and educational seminars to advance the baking world as a whole. BEMA has been a cornerstone of our industry and FoodTools is proud to be an active member.
Sergio first found FoodTools when he was working at a delivery company and we were one of his customers. He moved to FoodTools in 1998 and started in a production and assembly position before working his way into sales. When asked who he considers a mentor in our industry he replied «I would have to say Marty Grano (President and CEO) of FoodTools as he is the one who gave me my start into the baking industry.»
Having spent a quarter century in baking equipment, it’s fair to say that Sergio enjoys our industry. But what does he like so much about it? «The people and of course the baked products! The connections I have made with customers and other suppliers in this industry will last me a lifetime. Some of my closest friends work in this industry and we all support each other in everything we do. Did I mention the baked products???» said Caballero.
When asked what his goals are while serving on the BEMA Board Of Directors Sergio said «I want to continue to give back to the baking industry and being part of the BEMA Board is such an honor. BEMA has done so many good things in the 100+ years and I want to continue the traditions they have set forward.»
