When Kyle Nielsen and his team at Grains of Montana needed a better way to cut their quick breads into 1-inch slices they contacted FoodTools in search of the best automated solution.
We needed an answer to hand slicing our quick breads. We do it in 1-inch slices and the hand processing was hard to get people who were strong enough to do it all day and then consistent slices was a real problem.
Sergio Caballero from the FoodTools team met with the group at Grains of Montana and settled on the CS-10E automated sheet product slicing machine. The CS-10E is designed to cut a full sheets using a single mechanical blade for loaf products or a custom x & y axis bladeset for square, rectangle, and triangle portions. Depending on the product makeup and cut pattern layout the CS-10E can slice up to 150 full sheets per hour.
When we went to the CS-10E it really took all of the hand work out of it, minimized the labor, and had very accurate slices.
