FoodTools offers a soap cutting machine line that includes single wire, multi-wire, and stainless steel blade slicing options for portioning soap into bars, cubes, and more. Not only will cutting equipment speed up the slicing process, incorporating automated machines ensures that you get the same end product every time, no matter who is operating the equipment.

Commercial and artisanal soap makers produce a wide range of products and FoodTools portioning solutions are used to cut rectangles out of sheets, squares out of blocks, bars out of loaves, and wedges out of rounds. Depending on the final product consistency, makeup, and design the best slicing solution may be a single wire, wire grid or harp, or stainless steel bade to quickly and consistently cut the soap into individual portions.

One of our most popular soap cutting machines is the 5-AF wire harp slicer. This machine is ideal for commercial or industrial users and quickly slices sheets or blocks of product using an x & y axis wire harp. Cutting both directions at the same time means the 5-AF is optimized for speed and efficiency and this machine is best for slicing soap bars from sheets. To see the 5-AF in action watch the soap cutting machine video below.

For soaps that are too hard to cut both directions at the same time, or even to cut multiple bars from a loaf in one shot, FoodTools offers the 5-MB single wire slicer. This simple tabletop machine is very flexible and can cut virtually any portioning pattern the user chooses.

If a facility is cutting bars from a loaf and multiple wires can pass through the entire loaf at the same time then the 5-MMB multibar wire slicer can be used. For some hard soaps this style of slicing can cause problems such as compromised cut quality or broken wires. If you’re interested in a multibar wire slicer contact our experts to schedule a test cut with your product first.

One of the more unique soap cutting machines we’ve installed portions wedge slices from a round soap product. For this project we used a CS-1A cake cutting machine designed to cut cheesecakes, positioned the soap round on the product holder, and used the pneumatic powered stainless steel blade and semi-automatic indexing system to cut perfect wedge portions. Not only was this a unique product, but the decorations were over the top and looked nearly as delicious as the cakes that this machine typically cuts.

FoodTools machines are not only used to cut soap bars for sale to end users, the automated equipment can be used for ingredient reduction as well, especially in larger facilities creating soap at the commercial production level. The 5-AF can be used as an ingredient reduction machine that quickly breaks down large blocks of products like butters or fats that will be mixed in with other ingredients, colors, and fragrances to create the final soap products. Success using a multiple wire warp on large blocks is very dependent on product makeup so contact a FoodTools representative to schedule a test demonstration to ensure that your big blocks of ingredients can be reduced with the 5-AF wire harp machine.
